They also take up very little space, in comparison to other pieces of gym equipment too. Whilst a ceiling mounted punching bag will be hanging there almost constantly, a free standing punching bag can be slid into the corner whenever you do not need it! I find that these bags are absolutely perfect for those who are looking to work on their cardio.
Every home should have a decent set of dumbbells. They do not take up that much space, and they are great for a quick bicep workout every now and then. Purchase configurable dumbbells i.e. ones where you can add and remove weights to them. Some people will purchase a full set of dumbbells but they do tend to take up a whole lot of space.
• Skipping rope:
Absolutely perfect for cardio. Many people will kick their heart rate up to maximum with a skipping rope before they engage in other activities. Obviously, a jump rope is not going to take up all that much space in your home. Use this regularly too and you really will be building up the power of your legs. It is great!
• Exercise bands:
These are sometimes known as resistance bands or gym bands. They do not take up a whole lot of space, but they are going to give you a decent workout. There are also plenty of different exercises that you can perform with them. Take a browse about the internet for a few ideas.
