How to maintain and protect your dumbbells from damage
The premium rubberised dumbbell sets in singapore is durable and suitable for home strength training purposes. Compared to commercial dumbbells in gymnasiums, the rubberised dumbbell set is more durable and easier to maintain due to the additional rubber coating which protects the dumbbells from damages. However, the rubberised weights plates and handles are not invulnerable, there are several things to take note of to extend the lifespan of your dumbbells and tips for you to make your dumbbell set as good as new.
Washing the weights plates occasionally
If you have a pair of dumbbells at home, you will know that the dumbbells will gather dusts after some time if not cleaned thoroughly. During training, there is a tendency for the dumbbells to be rolled over the floor and become dirty with dusts. As a result, we recommend that you wash your dumbbell plates with soap and water from time to time. In contrast to other iron-cast and chrome dumbbells used commercially, the rubberised dumbbells are water proof and resistant to rust, hence you do not have to worry about the weights plates eroding after you have washed them.
When washing the dumbbell plates, spend some time cleaning the hole at the centre of the plates as there are more dirt there. Due to the nature of the rubber coating, there may be some rubber flakes due to scratching and chipping. These are normal and in small quantity. If you do not wish to wash the dumbbells with water, cleaning them with a wet towel is an alternative method which can help keep you hands clean the next time you workout with the dumbbell sets.
Keep clear of sharp objects
Even though the dumbbells are coated with a thick layer of rubber to prevent ot from damage, the nature of the rubber coating coating causes the dumbbell plates to be prone to scratches and chipping after some time. If you have more than one dumbbell at home, you might have noticed that the edges on the dumbbell bar can be quite sharp, when the dumbbells come into contact with one another, the sharp edges of the dumbbell handles might cause some scratches on the surface of the dumbbell plates. If you have other sharp objects in your room, it is recommended that you keep your dumbbells away from them.
Handles and metal collars are not water-proof
The dumbbell bar and 2 metal collars that are included in the dumbbell set are made of iron. As a result they are not resistant to rusting which means that you should try your best to prevent water from coming into contact with the dumbbell bar and metal collars. Keep in mind that your weights plates must be kept dry when loading onto the bar.
As the dumbbell sets comes with many weights plates, keeping your weights plates all in one area can prevent some plates from missing. Also, do not place your dumbbells all over your workout area as there has been many cases of injury due to tripping over dumbbells during workout.
